Make Your Mornings Less Manic

The internet with people starting their day with matcha and yoga and journal. Nice if you can do it, but how about some practical tips for tacking the mania out of your morning, compiled via the hive mind of MOAL Community

1) If you have kids, set an alarm to get up before them, it give you a chance to sort yourself before focusing on them. Admittedly, that's not so easy if you have a house of early risers.

Use that window to get outside first thing, even if just to deel the cold air on your face. Weirdly makes a huge difference.

2) Clothes out the night before, for everyone.

3) Set timers for kids (and yourself) either on a phone or on Google Home/Alexa. One for teeth, one for shoes on, one to grab coats etc. Better still having an extra set of toothbrushes downstairs makes getting kids to brush far less of a drama.

4) Instill a 'no breakfast till dressed' rule. Even better, noscreen time at all, its an unpopular opinion but truthfully they are not necessary.

6) Breakfasts that can be premade are good; overnight oats are tasty, and filling can be made in batches a few days before too.

7) Install a hook for your keys. No more time wasted searching for them.

8) Early nights around. Having a good bedtime routine, ideally hitting the hay at approximately the same time each day gives you the best chance of starting the day right.

9) If in doubt, you can count on coffee.
